iChat away message!

This is a great tip submitted by Hunter Evans! iChat remembers your away messages by default. This can be changed in "Edit Status Menu...". There is another way however: you can keep the "Remember custom messages" checked and choose to apply one that is not going to be saved. To do this, when you type your away message, you simple have to press "Shift-Enter" (Shift-Return) instead of pressing Enter (or Return) and the message won't be added to the Status Menu. Thanks Hunter!

If you want to add a sound file to the list of available sounds (in mail, ichat, or system prefs) then you'll need to drag it to *Your Home Folder*/Library/Sounds/. However, it would have to be an aif file I believe. You can convert a sound file in quicktime or iTunes. (Quicktime is easier.)

Hope that helps!
