A dock that has every application!

A great tip submitted by Erik Reagan: A dock that has every application! This is a simple application called Todos that shows you all the apps in the application folder. Once it is launched (you can select it to start up on login), you can bring it up with "Ctrl-Option-Command-T". What I really like about it is that it only adds a small icon in the menu bar but it is not present in the Dock or the "Command-Tab". It is a free download here on VersionTracker. Thanks Erik for the tip!

Thanks also to Harold Thompson for spreading the word about A New Mac Tip Every Day on his blog Some Mac Blog.

But why have that when you can have Quicksilver? It's much easier to use and understand!!

The most usefull aspect of todos is, that, on a glance, you can see if you have too many versions of the iPod Updater on your machine. ;)

ToDo looks like it would be more useful if you don't have a huge number of apps, like the original OS X installed amount, or less. But geez, who wants to hunt through 306 icons (count 'em there), including apps you never use, especially if the app you're looking for you don't use often and you may not remember the icon? I've found HimmelBar to be the best solution. It's a menu item that you can configure exactly to your heart's content, lists in alphabetical order (if you want), is quick, and updates on the fly. And...it also has **ICONS!** Rated 5 mice out of 5 by MacUser [ http://macuser.pcpro.co.uk/ ] and by me (no affiliation to the developer). I use it daily. And it's FREE. SO cool.....[ http://softbend.free.fr/himmelbar/ ]

you can hide applications from the list by option-clicking them. This way you don't have to look at all those weird system apps that you never really wanted to see anyway...

Great program though! I was always looking for a hotkey into the applications folder, but this is even better than I could've hoped. Quicksilver rocks too: if you haven't gotten that one already look back into some of the archives in this blog...I know it was mentioned somewhere in here (that's how I found it)

keep it up, MacGeek!!

P.S. -- it's not ToDo...it's "Todos", as in spanish for "all" (makes since, right?...)

Xmenu is another nice little item for the menu bar that shows all the apps. It is freeware available from www.devon-technologies.com

cute, but too busy for my eyes.

I just put my applications folder into the dock and see all alphabetically in the folder by holding the track button over the folder.
