Leopard, Leopard, and more Leopard!

Yes, Leopard is coming out today. I got many emails about how I am going to work with this, so here it is. It will be similar to what happened with iLife and iWork 08. A new OS is a big thing though. So basically, I will take screenshot and base new tips on Leopard, but many tips will be Tiger compatible. I unfortunately won't be really looking at Leopard until next week because I am in the middle of an intensive training where I cannot afford the risk of having some applications not be Leopard compatible.

I have a question-- I found this website while looking for something else but it has an offer for free Leopard if you qualify or whatever...here's the link: link removed
Do you think it looks valid?

I am sorry I had to delete your comment. I just could not leave the link in and there is no way to edit comments. These offers might look interesting and some might be valid, some might not, I don't know. Whether it is valid or not, posting links to these websites is usually considered spamming (I know you were not intentionally doing any spamming).

Gustavo - your ibook should be fine. They say minimum requirements are having at least a G4 with 867mhz processor and 512MB of ram so you are fine on both accounts

I'm writing this from leopard.
for some reason it seems to be slow at doing some if the animations like going through the dock and going to the dashboard which is strange coz my mac book is only a year old and has 2gig of ram.
also it apparently had a problem installing the first time so it had to restart.
apart from that its realy good

oh ye and the way it reads things is a little weird
( i'm dyslexic so i like to get the mac to read what i have written so that i know it makes sense )

Shaan: If you bought it after October 1st, you are most likely eligible for the $10 Up-to-date program. If you bought before that, the only way is to either buy a single license or a family pack (cheaper if you have 2 or more Macs). Amazon.com is currently the cheapest price I have seen.

Shaan,
if you are a student you can also qualify for the student discount of $116. It's not much, but it helps. That's the cheapest I've seen...

I bought my Macbook last June 23,2007 and I am waiting for my Leopard OS which I ordered online. Since I read Boot camp is part of it, do I still need to buy Parallels for Windows OR the VM Ware Fusion so as just to have my windows file run? If yes, which would you recommend is easier to use? With the Fusion, it did not recognize my external hard drive. Thank you!

CompUSA is having a $30 off rebate sale this weekend only, for both single user and family pack, but it ends today so go get it!

Dinna,
you do not need any additional software besides the Microsoft OS (XP or Vista) that you wish to install on your Mac. Boot Camp will take care of everything and allow you to boot from either OS. However, if you want to run both leopard and Microsoft at the same time (in the same window), then you will need third party software like parallels...

Enjoy leopard, I know I do!!
Cheers!

I want input on my website:
www.geocities.com/carjug
It is a color-reading site. spend 20 minutes reading the poems, then e-mail me. I want to know if it "works" for you, and if you have to read aloud for meaning. If you have a decoding issue you may have the first fluent reading experience of your life.
