Using your built-in portable motion sensor for a game!

I think this is a very innovative way of building a game. The game called Wally Bally uses the motion sensor that is built-in to every new portable Mac as controls for the game. The game is very simple, but I think it is more about the concept than the real game experience. I was surprised how precise the motion sensor is, because I know Apple only added this to protect the hard drive in case of a fall. The developer says it works on MacBook, but I assume it also includes MacBook Pro and PowerBook that have the motion sensor. The game unfortunately does require Mac OS X Leopard. The game is not in English, but it really doesn't matter. You can check it out here on MacUpdate.

Where can you find the water one? I found Netpong on Apple's download site, but not the water one. Partly because I don't know its name. lol

There is a program called AMS2HID:

You can use that to control the mouse movement in any application essentially. Basically - run AMS2HID - load the game - switch to AMS2HID and select the program/game - switch back to game and you are set.

I have used this with the game Neverball - not as clean as using the mouse - but still pretty funny.

The program AMS2HID should work fine in both Tiger and Leopard... At least I have had success in both versions. I am also on a MacBookPro - so yes - it has the same features. :)

And then there's SeisMac which "turns your Sudden Motion Sensor-equipped laptop into a three-axis seismograph."

Get it here: http://www.suitable.com/tools/seismac.html

Maybe they can make an Etch-a-Sketch program so you can clear the screen by shaking your MacBook.

Seriously, you don't want to be bouncing your notebook computer around, do you? Unless you get one of the new ones with a solid-state drive; but then, would those come with motion sensors?
