iTunes in the menu bar!

A new utility was just released that adds the possibility of controlling iTunes from the menu bar. It is called iTunesMenu. It might not be entirely stable yet, because it is still in version 0.1. It also adds the possibility of enabling Growl notifications and setting hotkeys for Play/Pause/Next/Previous/Volume/Quit and Launch iTunes. You can learn more about iTunesMenu or download it here from MacUpdate.

There is a program called Synergy. It works amazingly well! It shows at the start of a song which song it is going to play and there are hotkeys to program.
In the menu will appear a button to control Itunes. Agian: it rocks!

I use a program call youcontroltunes and it works great. It does everything said so far plus you can navigate through your library from the menu bar. My favorite thing about it though is that it has the play/pause/next/previous buttons on the menu bar. It really works well!

i use gimmesometune, it lets you control itunes from the menubar plus ads covers and songtexts to itunes, so you can even look at them on the ipod. but for controlling, i find the mouse gestures of quicksilver most useful.
for everybody who doesnt know quicksilver, its the best 3rd party ware available!

Another satisfied Synergy user here. It provides itunes menu bar control of almost all functions... playlists, shuffle, start and stop itunes, etc. Also grabs album covers when possible, and allows you to transfer them to iTunes. Lastly, it provides a popup (if you like) of album cover/song title/rating when songs queue. It doesn't have lyrics acquisition, but I use Harmony from mindquirk for that, and all is good. Oh, and it allows for system wide key commands which is probably my favorite part.
