Custom Footnote in Pages!

It is possible to insert a Custom Footnote in Pages. It is actually hidden under the "Footnote" feature. You just have to hold down "Option" and in the "Insert" menu, "Footnote" will change to "Custom Footnote".

Nice tip!

Just wondering if you could expand and specify what the "Custom" feature actually is?

I mean, a Footnote is any text you desire to add to the bottom of every printed page.

I suppose every Footnote is "Custom" then, right?

I found it!

The "Custom" part of Footnote in Pages allows you to select the "Custom Mark".

This is basically a short list of marks - but no actual way to add your own true "custom" marks.

Still, a very useful feature.

Brian, In your first comment, it looks as if you were talking about footers. The same text at the bottom of every page.

A Footnote is that mark after a word or sentence that says look down at the bottom of the page or end of the text for more information.

The "Custom" part lets you choose a symbol outside the conventional numbering that footnotes employ.

Hope this helps clear up some questions for others.

Great, but a problem I am having with Pages right now is how to have both footnotes AND endnotes in the same document. I know how to convert footnotes to endnotes and vise a versa but i don't see an option that allows me to insert both footnotes and then separately endnotes.
