Moving a window without bringing it to the forefront!

I actually saw this tip on Tekzilla, but it is so cool that I had to post about it. What it lets you do is move windows that are not the currently active windows without bringing them to the forefront. It is hard to explain, but you'll get a good idea once you try it. You just have to hold down "Command" and click on a window that is not currently active to move it. It doesn't work with all windows, but it usually works well. Thanks for the tip Tekzilla.

I'm struggling to think of an instance in which anyone would want to move a window without bring it to the front.

I tired it and it works well. but would anyone really use it?

In response to Max Weaver:

I have been using this feature for months now - it's a must have!

I am checking my mail and I can click in the mail while leaving Safari as the top window.

This is especially useful when you are playing a video on screen while browsing - I can't tell you how valuable this is - you just have to use it!

It's one of those features (like Spaces, Stacks, etc.) that allows you to control your apps more efficiently.

I agree with Brian. This tip is actually much more useful than it seems. It's especially useful when you're drafting an email or document and find yourself needing to check information from another window that is partially hidden by the current window. Before, you would have to switch to the other application, move the window to where the info is visible, and switch back to where you were working. Now you can just cmd-click the window, move it where you need, and continue to type without even having to click back in your current window!
